I started making nougat and other sweets after I attended a course at the Lindt Chocolate Studio in Cape Town in 2009. At the time I ran the bakery at the Swartberg Hotel here in Prince Albert and I didn't really have the time to make sweets that often. In 2012 the hotel was sold to new owners and I began to make sweets and decorated biscuits at home to sell at the Saturday Market, and also for wedding favours.

I only use the best ingredients, as the taste and quality of my products are very important to me. My homemade nougat is made with Lindt white chocolate, cocoa butter, and natural citrus extracts from France, for a short texture and fresh flavour. It is filled with various dried fruit and nut combinations. The following combinations are standard, but special requests can be discussed (some types of fruit can not be used): Apricot & Almond, Cranberry & Macadamina, Cashew & Almond. Orders can be placed through my website, http://www.andrea.co.za, and delivery arranged through the post office or courier. I do travel to George once or twice a month, so if you are in this area I may be able to deliver personally.
