Cape Coaters is a manufacturing company specializing in the coating of synthetic fabrics with PVC and other similar polymers. We have production facilities in Cape Town and Pinetown, South Africa.

Cape Coaters was founded in the year 2000 as a privately owned enterprise and has subsequently merged with North Safety Products as part of the newly founded industrial investment company African Boomerang Investments.

Production

There are three coating plants in Cape Town, both of which use different coating techniques.


C-Plant:
The coating equipment is of European origin
Maximum width: 3.20m
Mass range: 350gsm to 900gsm
The technology used is dipcoating where both sides are coated simultaneously
Finishes include both standard matt and gloss
Specialty products are coated with a water based acrylic lacquer
Formulations are developed to meet specific end use requirements
New batching equipment was commissioned during q2/2008 to allow for the manufacture of jumbo rolls in all weights and widths


A-Plant & Bruckner:
Knife over roll coating plants
Maximum width: 1.80m
Mass range: 180gsm to 900gsm
