Charles Bekker started in the property industry in 1996, working for Era Pudneys as an estate agent in the Port Elizabeth, Uitenhage and surrounding areas. He sold residential, commercial and agricultural properties.

In 1998 he went to work for Independent Property Consultants. At that stage interest rate was at 25% and the number of people with distressed properties was rapidly on the rise. Families were losing their homes by the dozen weekly.

This is when CB Estates was born - a property consultancy specializing in distressed properties.

Since those humble beginnings CB Estates has built up a robust client base from by doing consistent and fair property deals - where all parties: seller, buyer and bondholder get the best possible deal.

As specialists in distressed properties, CB Estates always acts with empathy for the sellers who are at risk of losing their homes. We realize the sensitivity of the situation and will always try and get the best possible outcome for the seller and handle the situation with the necessary confidence, discretion and confidentiality.

CB Estates has nurtured many young agents that started their career with us and subsequently moved on to other agencies as their careers diversified. A large part of our business comes from referrals from within this network. Currently we have 3 agents and 1 intern agent, but often work in partnership with many other agencies, bond originators, investors, banks, builders and renovators.
